Sony Won't Allow Fortnite Cross-Play Because "PlayStation Is The Best Place To Play"

Says Sony's CEO.

If you're one of the many Fortnite players affected by Sony's refusal to allow cross-play among platforms, you might want to look away now. Speaking at the IFA technology show in Berlin, Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida has finally revealed the reason behind the company's consumer-unfriendly decision - because "PlayStation is the best place to play".

You may remember that, during the game's launch period on Nintendo's system, users were quick to notice that Fortnite accounts which had previously been used on PS4 could not be used on Switch, and players from either console couldn't play against one another. This meant that players who had purchased items and made in-game progress on PS4 were forced to either keep playing on the system, or completely start from scratch if they wanted to play the game on Switch.
