Tokyo Game Show is a yearly video game convention held in Chiba, Japan, usually focused on Japanese games and releases. It was held virtually in 2020, and a combination of online and in-person (for business only) in 2021, thanks to the ongoing COVID pandemic, but it will return to being a fully in-person event this year.
In the announcement of the event (via Gematsu), the organisers outlined the theme — "Nothing Stops Gaming" — and described 2022 as "the year to show the real spirit of games," inviting everyone to "show your love of games to each other" after being forced to "give up doing fun things one after another over these two years".
