Geralt comes to Monster Hunter: World in a free update early next year

While Geralt may hate portals, it seems he can’t get away from interdimensional passages. Monster Hunter: World marks his latest crossover journey, and it least means the Witcher will get to do what he does best: hunt monsters. Geralt will become part of Capcom’s game in a free update next year. You will “take on the mantle” of Geralt while setting out on a number of unique quests built around the Witcher. It’s going to be something different from what you’re used to, as these missions will “offer a unique gameplay experience blending RPG mechanics of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with Monster Hunter: World’s game systems.” Exactly what that means in concrete terms remains to be seen - the official announcement is maddeningly vague - but we’ll find out in early 2019. While the Winter Festival saw PC players finally get parity with console players for in-game events, there’s going to be another delay for Geralt. This update comes to computers sometime “soon” after the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One patches go out.
