Valve Writer Erik Wolpaw Back At The Company

Valve Writer Erik Wolpaw, who worked on titles such as Portal, Half-Life 2, and Left For Dead, exited in 2017, but it looks like he's still been involved with the company.

Reddit user Trenchman saw Wolpaw's name in the credits for the recent card title Artifact, which the user claims was confirmed by Valve co-founder Gabe Newell. Nevertheless, Polygon got in touch with Wolpaw who confirmed his work with Valve.

Wolpaw says he's "not currently a full-time employee," but is a contractor working with writers Jay Pinkerton, Steve Jaros, and Sean Vanaman "whenever they need it."

The presence of Wolpaw is good news given that writers – including Pinkerton – have left Valve in recent years.
