The next Assassin’s Creed is about Vikings, according to a Division 2 easter egg

A Division 2 teaser could point towards the setting of the next Assassin’s Creed game. A poster uncovered in Ubisoft’s post-apocalyptic take on Washington D.C. has some fans speculating about a potential Viking-themed entry in the long-running series. A forum post on the Assassin’s Creed fandom site shows a Division 2 character looking at a post of a cloaked man wearing a helmet and some sort of tunic. In his left hand, he’s holding some kind of staff or spear, and in another, a mysterious sphere. The legible text on the poster points to the JFK Center, and the word above it reads ‘Valhalla’, referencing the Viking afterlife. None of that points directly to an entire game based on Viking mythology, but Assassin’s Creed YouTuber JorRaptor thinks he’s uncovered an extra detail. Zooming in on that mystery sphere shows off something that looks an awful lot like an Apple of Eden, a type of mythological artifact important to the stories of multiple Assassin’s Creed games. You can check that out in the video which I’ve posted further down this article.
