In the inevitable future when physical media is no longer used to sell games and we have to purchase from digital stores, will we be screwed over by price monopolies?

I already avoid/hate buying from the PSN store because it's the most expensive place to buy anything in new Zealand, never mind the fact that it's entirely digital. Steam is pretty good atm but I feel like it could get worse if they get a monopoly plus some publishers are dicks.

What do you guys think? I think you could argue that the prices will drop if people don't buy overpriced games but I simple don't think we can count on enough people boycotting them to make a difference.
