Minecon - which has been rebranded as Minecraft Live - will take place on 3rd October 2020.
In an update on the official blog, Mojang's Sofia Dankis explained that while the Minecraft Festival has been delayed to 2022, the online event Minecraft Live will proceed next month virtually.
"Minecraft Live is the new version of our annual live show, which has had many names such as MINECON Live and MINECON Earth," Dankis said (thanks, PC Gamer). "Why the name change? Would you ask rap superstar and underrated actor Sean Combs a.k.a P. Diddy a.a.k.a Puff Daddy that? No, you would not.
