The September 3rd MLB The Show 20 roster update is about upward trends — or even just continuing trends. A lot of players who have received prior attribute boosts got further boosts this week. This means Machado, Maeda, Bieber, Soto and Voit are the familiar faces that will garner the most attention in this update.
Overall, Juan Soto and Shane Bieber were the players with the highest overall ratings who were impacted this week as they jumped to 90 overall. Gerrit Cole is the other one who sticks out since he dropped from 91 overall to 89 overall.

- No one lost diamond status but Yelich and Cole took some pretty big hits to their ratings
Gold Market Movement
Going Up
- Jason Heyward, Tyler Glasnow, Luis Robert, Teoscar Hernandez, Eric Hosmer, Ian Happ, Didi Gregorius, Kevin Kiermaier all join the gold ranks this week. Kiermaier had just recently lost gold status so he takes that right back.
Going Down
- David Peralta was the only gold who dropped to silver this week
