Pokémon Sword And Shield Become First Entries Since Gold And Silver To Surpass 20 Million Sales

Will likely overtake Gold and Silver lifetime sales.

Yesterday, Nintendo released its financials for the third quarter of the current fiscal year - revealing twenty-nine Switch games have sold over a million copies over the past nine months.

The highlight of the lot was Animal Crossing: New Horizons' sales but a few other games have also reached some exciting milestones. Pokémon Sword and Shield now have more than 20 million sales (shifting exactly 20.35 million copies, as of 31st December 2020) making them the third mainline Pokémon games in the history of the series to surpass the 20 million mark.
