Final Fantasy XV Celebrates Second Anniversary With FF XIV Collaboration

Final Fantasy fans are still reeling from yesterday's news that director Hajime Tabata has resigned from the company and that all Final Fantasy XV DLC beyond March's Episode Ardyn have been canceled. Regardless, Square is in a celebratory mood.

The company is heralding the second anniversary of the release of Final Fantasy XV this month, and along with a new trailer for Episode Ardyn (which is also coming with an anime episode called "Final Fantasy XV Episode Ardyn - Prologue" comes a free collaboration event with online title Final Fantasy XIV (trailer above). Players in FF XV can participate in an in-game quest called "Adventurer from Another World," which culminates in Noctis battling FF XIV's Garuda for a Final Fantasy XIV-themed costume.

Also related to the anniversary is the standalone release of Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades on Xbox One and PS4 on December 12 (below). The expansion includes 10 powerful bosses to its multiplayer, and those who already own it can download it for free.
