April 1, 2019 A quickly-deleted tweet from the official Borderlands account suggests a September release.
It’s a few days until the final unveiling of Borderlands 3 is scheduled to take place, but Gearbox may have just accidentally revealed exactly when the game is coming out. The official account just put up - and subsequently deleted - a tweet that said “Mayhem is Coming September 13,” in reference to the tagline of last week’s teaser trailer ahead of the Borderlands 3 reveal. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford confirmed last week that we'll get the official release date on April 3. Either this new tweet went live prematurely, or it's an elaborate April Fool's prank to bring further hype around the Borderlands 3 release. To top it all off, September 13 this year lands on a Friday. A fan theory positing an October release also came earlier this week courtesy of Zottelpanda (via Game Watcher), who's noticed something curious at 1:40 and 1:52 of the reveal trailer. In both frames, two digits can be seen on the sides of buildings in the same white font: '01' and '10'. Depending on which date format you care to use, that could mean either October 1 or January 10. As replies to Zottelpanda point out, this October will mark the tenth anniversary of the original Borderlands (it released on October 20, 2009), and October 1 this year will be a Tuesday - a day of the week on which games often release.from PCGamesN https://ift.tt/2HZeA8v
