Summer is almost here, but the gaming world still has a few big releases in store. On that note, we at Gamers Heroes take a look at 5 games we’re looking forward to in May. Oh, and we won’t make you click through five pages to look at the entire list.
5 Games We’re Looking Forward to in May
Dungeon crawler aficionados rejoice – NIS America’s Lapis x Labyrinth is coming out this month.
Tasking players with gathering comrades, venturing into the Labyrinth below the Golden Forest, and claiming gold and treasure, players will be able to customize their team with more than 4,000 different combinations. We’re looking forward to experimenting with the eight different classes, and also toying with its risk-reward system.
Lapis x Labyrinth will come out for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on May 28.
A sequel to the Arland Trilogy series, Koei Tecmo’s Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland puts the spotlight on Elmerulia Frixell, the daughter of the protagonist from the first Arland title. Tasking players with deciphering a book that tells the truth about Arland, the game sets players on a new adventure. The synthesis, exploration, and battle that defines the series returns in great form, along with a number of enhancements that we’re looking forward to experiencing.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland will come out for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 24.
Sonic the Hedgehog gives his feet a rest and gets behind the wheel in SEGA and Sumo Digital’s Team Sonic Racing. A kart racer at its core, players will choose from one of 15 different characters from the series and race on courses based on the franchise. Unlike other kart racers, the focus here is on cooperative play – players will share power-ups and collect points each race. We’re looking forward to racing on a number of iconic tracks, and also listening to the soundtrack composed by series mainstay Jun Senoue.
Team Sonic Racing will come out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 21.
Funcom and Petroglyph Games takes the Conan series to the RTS realm with the release of Conan Unconquered. Players are thrown into quite the predicament – your city is under siege from the forces of Hyberia, and the only way to come out on top is to build up your army, research new technologies, and gather and manage a number of different resources. We’re looking forward to taking on waves of increasingly difficult enemies, and also seeing how savage things can become.
Conan Unconquered will come out for the PC on May 30.
Avalanche Studios and Bethesda Softworks team up with the upcoming release of RAGE 2. Giving players a post-apocalyptic open world to explore, players take control of ranger Walker as he takes on the Authority. We’re looking forward to playing around with the title’s special powers and ability boosts (called Nanotrites).
RAGE 2 will come out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 14.
What we at Gamers Heroes are looking forward to the most:
We at Gamers Heroes are looking forward to RAGE 2 the most. It looks to provide a meaty adventure, and the one-two punch of Bethesda Softworks and Avalanche Studios looks to be a good one.
