At last month’s Apple event, Pascal’s Wager was shown off with the iPhone 11 and is one of the more interesting looking soulslikes on mobile. Apple mentioned that this is the first worldwide release from TipsWorks and the reveal we all saw looked a lot like Bloodborne from Sony and FromSoftware and the Dark Souls series from the latter in terms of aesthetics. Watch the E3 2019 trailer for Pascal’s Wager below:
Soulslike releases aren’t really rare anymore with there being options across platforms ranging from indie releases like the fantastic Salt & Sanctuary and big console releases like the Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja developed Nioh. We recently even had another take on the soulslike formula with an anime flavour from Bandai Namco Entertainment with Code Vein. Pascal’s Wager is going to be interesting to see for sure because no one really considers this genre playable with touch controls. I’m definitely looking forward ot checking it out. Watch some gameplay from the Apple event below:
Pascal’s Wager is up for pre-order (as spotted by @mixtobin) on the App Store with a January 16th, 2020 release date. It is a premium release priced at $6.99 for iOS. If you’re on Android, the official website that you can check out here has the Android version listed with a “Stay tuned!" tease. It will likely show up on Android after the iOS release. What do you think of Pascal’s Wager so far?
