Oscar winning director Martin McDonagh has set his first movie after Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and the early reports are very intriguing. Sources told Deadline that McDonagh's next movie, The Banshees of Inisheer, will tell a story of two lifelong friends who struggle to cope with their lives after one abruptly ends their friendship, which leads to "alarming consequences."
The movie is set in a remote island in Ireland, and the casting news is very exciting. According to the report, The Banshees of Inisheer will bring back Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson in the lead roles, both of whom starred in McDonagh's In Bruges in very memorable performances. They had electric chemistry for In Bruges, so it's exciting to learn they're coming back to play troubled friends once again.
The film will be made at Searchlight Pictures, which was formerly known as Fox Searchlight up until Disney acquired Fox and killed the name.
