Axiom Verge Creator Says The Sequel Has A "Distinctly Heavier Zelda Influence"

It might not feel like it, but earlier this month, Axiom Verge 2 was officially revealed for the Switch during Nintendo's Indie World Showcase. As explained within the title, it's a sequel to the original game released on the eShop in 2017.

While Axiom Verge has been compared to the Metroid series in the past, the sequel has also been influenced by The Legend of Zelda series. This was revealed by the game's creator Tom Happ during an interview with Nintendo Enthusiast recently:
