Since its official launch in 2018, Dead Cells has seen numerous updates and additions, each one adding content or responding to player requests for changes. Developer Motion Twin has announced its first paid DLC for their runaway hit: it's called The Bad Seed, and will launch early next year. The Bad Seed will be adding two biomes that will be available as early path choices during your runs, which means you'll be able to start checking them out right away, regardless of whether you've cleared Dead Cells' later stages and unlocked everything in the base game. The first is the Arboretum, which is a cheerful, bright area full of cute creatures who nevertheless want to murder you. The second is the swamp, which is decidedly less cheerful but gives you a choice between ravenous giant purple ticks on the ground or unfriendly blow gun wielding fiends in the trees above. The new areas are full of unique new enemies to slice to bits, and doing so will yield brand new distinctive gear. Motion Twin says it's adding the game's first double-slot weapon, and you'll be able to recruit an adorable mushroom companion if you can make your way through the new areas.
