Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto Recognised As Honorary Citizen By His Hometown In Japan

A worthy recipient.

Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto is a living legend and an individual responsible for many of the most famous video game series of all time. He currently acts as a 'Creative Fellow' at the Japanese company and passes his ideas and knowledge onto the next generation of video game designers.

Now, Miyamoto is being recognised as one of the first honorary citizens of his hometown Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture. He's credited in The Kyoto Shimbun as "leading game development at Nintendo, and producing hit titles" like Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda (thanks, Japanese Nintendo).
