Developer Blue Mammoth Games, creators of Smash Bros.-like Brawlhalla, were acquired by Ubisoft just a few weeks ago. Perhaps it was this announcement that made the armor-clad Shovel Knight realize there was an indie fighting game out there that he wasn't a part of, but regardless of why, Shovel Knight and some of the game's cast are joining in what is now Ubisoft's new platform fighter.
King Knight, Black Knight, Plague Knight and Specter Knight are also joining Shovel Knight in the game. While the blog post refers to them as skins rather than characters, it notes that they include unique animation and signature effects, as well. Details of when they will be released are still forthcoming.
The group joins Rayman, which is also coming soon to the free-to-play fighter. Brawlhalla is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
